Back in June I was in Florence, Italy at the highly coveted event, Pitti Uomo. According to Wikipedia, Pitti Uomo is arguably the world’s most important platform for men’s clothing and accessory collections and for launching new projects in men’s fashion. It occurs twice a year in Florence – once in January and once in June. I’ve been attending for years, but this one, this might have been the best event yet.

Can I just tell you what a blessing it is in this life to ever find yourself surrounded by a large group of people who are passionate about the same things in life that you are, whom encourage you and build you up and motivate you? I spent the entire weekend surrounded by rockstars. And not just any rockstars, I mean men that were immaculately dressed to the nines.

If you’re a man looking for fashion inspiration, look no further than the lookbook that could have come from Pitti Uomo this year. It was ALL ABOUT COLOR. We all know that I’m no stranger to color. Give me an event like Pitti Uomo, and I’ll give you the dopest pink suit on the planet (paired politely with a basic white button down and my favorite brown slippers, of course).

If there was one thing to be taken away from Pitti Uomo this year, it’s that color can be a man’s best friend. A bright pastel suit can go above and beyond and over the top, just be sure to mute everything else down. There’s a fine line between spreading your fashion wings and peacocking… If you get too, too colorful with your wardrobe, your style isn’t taken as seriously. TOO much color and you begin to take away from the focal points of your anticipated audience. One pop of color is the way to go. Trust me on this one.
